Aid for Individuals
Please note that the Food Cupboard is closed. Emergency food and financial assistance during a crisis or emergency are still available.
Mission: To improve, develop and care for the health, welfare and general well being of residents of the greater Webster community.
In 2017 the Webster Community Chest assisted many in the 14580 zip code. This includes:
- 1362 contacts to the Community Chest
29 families received emergency financial assistance
4 residents received wheelchair transportation through WASPS
43 children received a summer camp scholarship
7 families received emergency food assistance (this includes 3 individuals served through Meals on Wheels)
Aid for Organizations
We are committed to helping organizations that strengthen our community by providing activities, and services for residents. We like to extend our resources to organizations for projects that may need extra funds. Organizations can write to Webster Community Chest at 1000 Ridge Rd. Webster NY 14580 to request funds. The President may then call the contact person and ask that they attend the next meeting to explain their project.
In 2017 the Chest supported the following:
- Honor Flight
- Annual Webster Senior Citizens Luncheon
SEPTA (Special Education Parent Teacher Association
RAMS East (Self help group for people living with MS)
WCSD (Webster Central School District) Veterans Luncheon
WASPS (Webster Association of Senior Program Supporters)
Meals on Wheels (10 Hot Boxes purchased to be used exclusively in Webster for meal deliveries)
Medical Equipment Loan Cupboard
You may borrow equipment or make donations to the Webster Masonic Service Bureau located at 979 Bay Road. Please call them at 671-9730 for their hours and items available.
Shirley Miller Scholarship Award
Shirley Miller was the Community Chest benefit’s counselor for almost three decades. During those years, Shirley became the most visible part of the Community Chest working with those who most needed assistance. Each year the Webster Community Chest awards scholarships in Shirley’s memory to Webster high school seniors. These seniors have performed significant community service.
Deadline: Applications must be received by March 31st.
Summer Camp Scholarships
The Webster Community Chest provides summer camp scholarships to children in Webster families that qualify. These scholarships are available for a week of camp at the Bay View YMCA or a week of Fun Camp at Webster Parks & Recreation Center.
